Eagley School House Nurseries

Overview: Eagley School House Nurseries, with a rich heritage dating back to 1795, are renowned for their commitment to providing high-quality early years education. Located in Bolton, these nurseries offer a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children from birth to five years can thrive.

History: Eagley School House Nurseries trace their origins to the late 18th century when the “New School House” was established in Eagley, an area on the cusp of industrial growth. The school was founded on principles of religious tolerance and community harmony. Over the years, it evolved into a private residence before being revitalised as Eagley School House Nursery 1 in 2003 by Julie Robinson, a passionate educator with a vision for inclusive and high-quality childcare.

The mission of Eagley School House Nurseries is to inspire a lifelong love of learning in every child. Their core values include inclusivity, respect, and excellence. They are dedicated to fostering a diverse and balanced environment that reflects the world in which we live and prepares children for a future where everyone is valued and respected.

Eagley School House Nurseries adopt the Reggio Emilia Approach, emphasising child-led learning and exploration. They have developed their own Growth Mindset Curriculum, which encourages children to embrace challenges and view failures as opportunities to grow. Additionally, Julie Robinson co-founded Mini Minds Matter, an innovative programme that supports children’s mental health and wellbeing through mindfulness, affirmations, and meditations. This approach incorporates characters like Uniqueasaurus, inspired by a male educator, to promote mental health and inclusivity.

The nurseries provide a secure, stimulating, and loving environment designed to cater to the developmental needs of young children. Their facilities include well-equipped indoor and outdoor play areas, sensory rooms, and dedicated spaces for creative and educational activities. The atmosphere is designed to be cosy and self-regulating, ensuring that both children and staff feel calm and engaged.

I see my nursery and myself as an agent of change, and this is something I’m passionate about in creating the ripple effect of change.”

Ryan, one of our dedicated male practitioners, shares his positive experience: “I feel valued and supported in my role. The nursery’s commitment to inclusivity makes it an incredible place to work.”
